Director of Soccer

Rick Warren

Coach Rick Warren brings vast knowledge and expertise to the AC Team as our Director of Soccer. With an extensive collegiate and prep school coaching background, Rick also holds his National Soccer Coaches Association of America Premier Diploma and a USSF Coaching License. In addition to his coaching achievements, Rick is also a former member of the Jamaican Youth National Team.

At Suffield Academy, Rick’s resume speaks for itself. He has amassed nearly 150 career wins and numerous accolades, including being named Connecticut’s Large Preparatory High School Coach of the Year. Rick also serves as the President of the New England Prep School Soccer Association (NEPSAC).

Rick’s passion, enthusiasm, and love of the game are unmatched, making him the perfect person to lead The Academy Camps Soccer Program.

Rick and his wife Liz, Suffield Academy’s Cultural Diversity Director, are the proud parents of four boys.

Marcos Soria Manso

Amazing news that Marcos Soria Manso will be joining our Director of Soccer, Coach Rick Warren’s, coaching staff at Academy Camps for the summer of ‘24.

Adding great depth to our coaching staff, Coach Marcos has lived and breathed the beautiful game of soccer his entire life. An academy level youth coach in Madrid, Spain - Marcos’ soccer coaching credentials are vast. He possesses’ his UEFA A & B equivalency licenses and coupled with these impressive credentials has developed into a true tactician of the game. With very strong player performance and analytic skills - Coach Marcos coaches with a passion and joy on the sidelines which inevitably impacts all who come under his tutelage.

He is fluent in English, French and of course his native Spanish. Welcome to Coach Marcos, another sparkling personality ready to provide enthusiasm and leadership on the soccer pitch and within the AC community.

Academy Camps offers an alternative to the typical summer youth soccer experience of tournaments that focuses primarily on games and minimal skill development.

At Academy Camps, skill progression is at the forefront of what we do. Our campers improve and refine all facets of their soccer game in a positive, progressive and challenging environment. Every day.

Our high-performance coaching staff lead individual and group sessions, position-specific skill work, competitive scenarios and various forms of game-play that cover every position on the field.

David Holmes Field

Academy Camps Soccer takes place on the state-of-the-art David Holmes Field and is suplemented by our upper-turf field and over 7 natural grass fields. Our athletes will also have access to the 30,000 squart-foot Tisch Field House during inclement weather.

Prior to March 1, a $750 deposit is due upon enrollment. After March 1, 50% of tuition is due upon enrollment. The balance is due on May 1.

Additional charges include a $175 “AC Gear Pack” fee and camp transportation based on origin/destination.
